Concours d'Elegance
and Shine and Show
Everyone attending
will have their 928 Owners Club dues ($28) paid for one year as
part of the Convention, so you are all welcome and encouraged
to display your 928 in the Century
II Convention Center.
There will be "Full Concours", "Street Division", and "Display"
categories, with additional breakdowns as described below.
Only PCA and or 928OC members that have pre-registered may participate
in the "Full" or "Street Division" Judged Concours. No judging will
be performed on "Display" cars, but voting by the general admission
attendees should be encouraged. An award for "Best of Display" will
be given to the car that receives the most votes.
Concours display
(judged): $20 per car. Trophies and Prizes!
Display only (non-judged): $5 per car. Eligible for "People's
Choice Award"
Concours Events
Access to Century II Exhibition Hall will begin Friday from 6pm
to midnight, and again Saturday morning at 8am. This should allow
plenty of time to position cars and set-up before 12noon when we
will open the doors. 928OC-IC delegates will have open access to
Exhibition Hall, and the general public may be allowed in at 1pm.
By 1:00 p.m. all cars must be in place in "Show" or Display"
locations.
Depending on the number of participants, cars will be arranged in
Ed's following categories:
Group A will be 78 through 82
Group B will be 83 through 86
Group C will be all S4 models
If there are too many S4 models
Group D can be formed of all GT and GTS models
"Full" Concours
Judging will Include:
- all interior
areas
- the engine
compartment
- exterior
of the car including the wheel-wells
- but not including
the chassis
- "Street Division"
cars will have the interior and exterior judged
- excluding
the wheel-wells, the engine, and the chassis
Judging will
commence at 1:00 p.m.
Each "Full" Concours and "Street Division" car will undergo five
(5) minutes of judging.
Cars in "Full" Concours will be be judged by a team of four (4)
judges plus a time keeper.
The "Street Division" cars will be judged by a team of two (2) judges
and a time keeper.
To determine "Best of Show" each "Full" Concours First Place winner
will undergo yet another 5 minute round of judging by one team of
judges.
A similar round of judging will be done to determine the "Best of
Street Division" award.
Judging will end when the "Best of Show" and "Best of Street
Division" judging is completed.
Some time for tabulation of the scores will be needed, but we hope
to be able to start the awards presentations at about 4:00 p.m.,
so as to allow time to close this and get our cars to the Automobilia
parking area. This may take some time and considerable help to arrange
properly.
These are the preliminary plans for the Concours Event. This Event
is subject to change due to registrant participation.
The Century
II Convention Center is air-conditioned and adjacent to the
Hyatt Regency, Wichita and promises to make our Concours
d'Elegance quite memorable.
